Terms of Use
Effective Date: May 11, 2026 · Last Updated: May 11, 2026Runi — Word Search ("the App") is a word-connect puzzle game for iOS, developed by Claudiu Sararu ("I," "me," or "the Developer"). The App is available on the Apple App Store. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the App.
The short version. Runi is a personal, non-transferable licence for you to enjoy the App on Apple devices you own or control. There is one one-time purchase ("Runi Pro") that unlocks the full pack catalogue — no subscription, no recurring charges. The underlying licence is Apple's Standard EULA. Be reasonable, don't redistribute the App, and we'll get along fine.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Runi, you agree to these Terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA"), which applies in addition to these Terms. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms or the Apple Standard EULA, do not use the App.
2. The App
Runi is a word-connect puzzle game for iPhone and iPad. You drag through a wheel of letters to spell words, which fill in a themed crossword. The App includes:
- An Adult mode with twelve themed packs — Forest, Ocean, Cosmos, Archive, Kitchen, Critters, Music, Body, Weather, Sport, Garden, and Travel — each containing thirty hand-curated levels (360 puzzles total).
- A Kids mode with six gentler themed packs — Colors, Critters, Numbers, Playtime, Wheels, and Yum — each containing twenty levels (120 puzzles total) designed for young spellers.
- A daily puzzle that resets every day and is generated fresh from a themed common-word dictionary.
- Per-puzzle stats, favourite words, a daily-puzzle streak counter, and a wallet of hints and skips that refreshes every 24 hours.
The App runs entirely on your device. The only network calls it makes are to Apple's StoreKit framework (when you tap "Unlock for Runi Pro" or "Restore Purchase") and to Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage service (which mirrors your progress between your devices through your own iCloud account, as described in the Privacy Policy).
3. Licence
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, the Developer grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use Runi on Apple-branded devices that you own or control.
You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, sublicense, lease, sell, or otherwise transfer the App or any portion of it.
- Modify, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent that this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices in the App.
- Use the App to violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Attempt to circumvent the in-app purchase mechanism that gates Runi Pro content.
4. In-App Purchases
Runi offers a single one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase called Runi Pro at US $5.99 (or local equivalent) that unlocks every pack in the Adult and Kids catalogues. Runi Pro is a one-time payment; there is no subscription and no recurring charge.
All in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the StoreKit framework. The Developer does not receive, process, or store any payment information, credit card details, or billing data. The transaction is recorded against the Apple ID used at the time of purchase, and Runi Pro can be restored on any other Apple device signed into the same Apple ID via the "Restore Purchase" button in the App's Paywall and Settings.
Refunds
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple under their standard refund policy. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and follow Apple's instructions. The Developer is not able to issue refunds directly.
5. Free Content and Catalogue Changes
Without Runi Pro, you may play the entire Forest pack (thirty levels) and the daily puzzle, free of charge, indefinitely. The exact identity of the free pack, the catalogue size, and the price of Runi Pro may change over time. Any change applies prospectively only — content you have already unlocked stays unlocked.
6. Children
The Kids mode in Runi is designed to be safe for young children: there is no advertising, no in-app browser, no chat or social features, no data collection, and no contact with any external service except Apple's purchase flow and Apple's iCloud sync (which uses your own iCloud account, as described in the Privacy Policy). Parents are responsible for supervising in-app purchases by minors using their devices. Apple's "Ask to Buy" family-sharing feature is the recommended control if you wish to require parental approval for the Runi Pro purchase.
7. Privacy
Your privacy is important. Runi collects no personal information. Please see the separate Privacy Policy for full details, including how the App uses Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage to mirror your progress between your devices.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. The Developer does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that defects will be corrected.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the App. The Developer's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App and any in-app purchases in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Apple's Role
You acknowledge that these Terms are concluded between you and the Developer, not with Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. However, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and has the right to enforce them against you.
The Developer is solely responsible for the App, its content, maintenance, and support. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (where applicable). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
The Apple Standard EULA — which you accept by downloading the App — supersedes these Terms in the event of any conflict between them with respect to the matters it covers (such as scope of licence, restrictions on use, and Apple's role).
11. Changes to These Terms
The Developer may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected in the App Store description and, where appropriate, surfaced in the App itself. Your continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The current version is always available at sararu.net/runi/terms-of-use.html.
12. Termination
The licence granted in Section 3 remains in effect until terminated. It will terminate automatically without notice if you breach any of these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete it from your devices. Sections 8, 9, 10, and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are subject to the governing-law and dispute-resolution provisions of the Apple Standard EULA, which forms the foundational licence under which you use the App. Any matters not addressed by the Apple Standard EULA are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which you reside.
